The Forever Biscuit

I call this the Forever Biscuit because you will literally never need another biscuit recipe for the rest of your life once you’ve tasted this buttery, soft, fluffy bread from Heaven! It’s my Grandma’s recipe, and she is the original Cultured Country mama. Her food is always made with love and heritage that fills the soul as only she can. From my kitchen to yours, enjoy…but don’t hurt yourself! It’s that good!

Goodies to Gather

2 Cups Organic All Purpose Flour

1 Teaspoon Fine Salt

1 Tablespoon Organic Sugar

1 Tablespoon Baking Powder

1 1/2 Cup Organic Heavy Whipping Cream

3 Tablespoons Organic and/or Vegan Butter,

melted

*You will need one large bowl, a glass baking dish (I use two 9×13 dishes and they will hold up to eight biscuits each), a fork, a measuring cup parchment paper, one small microwave safe bowl, cooking spray, and (optional) cookie cutter.

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 450 degrees and spray your baking dish with nonstick spray (I use my favorite ghee butter spray). Put flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar in a large bowl and mix well with your fork.

Step 2

Measure out your heavy whipping cream and set aside. Melt your butter and pour it into your cup of heavy whipping cream. Mix well.

Step 3

Pouring a little at a time, pour cream and butter mixture into your flour. Use your fork to mix. Continue pouring and mixing until flour is no loner crumbly. You should be able to make a ball with your flour mix when its ready. Don’t go adding more milk or butter if it’s not coming together just right. Patience. It will! But this shouldn’t take all day. 2-3 minutes, tops.

Step 4

Roll you flour into a ball once it’s mixed well. On your parchment paper, press ball out with your palm until its about and inch to an inch and a half thick.

Step 5

This is where you can get cultured or keep it country. If you’re feeling fancy or you like a more symmetrically shaped biscuit, grab your favor cookie cutter or a water glass and cut your biscuits with those. If you’re feeling country, just do them drop biscuit style, using a spoon or ice cream scoop to put your biscuits on your baking dish. (Think Popeye’s vs Churches biscuits.) I used a 3 inch heart shaped cutter and it yielded 14 good sized biscuits. Re ball your dough after cutting and keep flattening it to cut more biscuits.

Step 6

Spray tops of biscuits with cooking spray. Bake for 12-15 minutes, keeping an eye on them until they are a light golden brown on top.

Step 7

Grab some honey or preserves and dance around your kitchen with your family while eating love in bread form! 😉
